Ellipted Clause
Ellipsis means leaving something out. An elliptid clause/ sentence is a shorter form of clause/sentence where some words have been omitted, but it retains the same meaning. It is used so that we can avoid unnecessary repeated words.
For the this course, an elliptic subject in a sentence with two finite verbs is deemed as two clauses. So, in other words: I picked up a pen and filled out the information on the form would be deemed as a compound sentence with two co-ordinated clauses
